Probate, Probate Process

When someone who has made a will dies, their property immediately passes into the hands of the executors appointed in the will. For their property to be divided according to their wishes, the executor of their estate must apply to the Probate Office to take out a Grant of Probate. The estate of the deceased cannot be administered until the Grant of Probate has been received. The executor can then administer the estate according to the will.

Gerard Cochrane & Co. Solicitors offer advice to Executors and beneficiaries regarding their obligations and rights in respect of a Will or Intestacy and will defend or initiate all probate related issues on your behalf. This includes challenging a will, contesting a will, probate disputes and beneficiary disputes.
